A lifelong resident of Loves Park, Bob Burden is a 1969 graduate of Harlem High School, and graduated in 1973 from Drake University, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics.
First elected Loves Park City Clerk in 1997, Bob was awarded his certification as a Master Municipal Clerk from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks in 2007.
Previously Bob served four years as Loves Park 2nd Ward Alderman, and one year on the Loves Park Planning Commission.
Bob also served as Trustee and Board President of the North Suburban Library District Board of Trustees, was a member of the Harlem Board of Education, and served on the Board of Directors of the Loves Park/Machesney Park Chamber of Commerce.
Currently, Bob is a founder and board member of the North Suburban Local History Committee. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Rockford Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the Board of the Harlem Scholarship Foundation, and GPAC Senior Citizen Center.
He is actively involved with Northwest Illinois Municipal Clerks Association, Municipal Clerks of Illinois and the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.
Bob is married to Jane Burden, who was a long-time third grade teacher and administrator at Keith School in Rockford, and now serves as an advanced planning advisor for Olson Funeral Homes.
